The People and Culture Program Assistant- Canada Summer Jobs, provides administrative support to the People and Culture Team including activities related to recruitment, student & volunteer management, and human resources information management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Completing reference checks as required;
• Assist with the preparation of employment offers, verification letters, etc.;
• Assist with setting up new employees in Workforce Now (WFN);
• Assist with rolling-out policies in WFN;
• Maintaining employee, student, and volunteer files;
• Assisting in the development of procedures;
• Assist in the development of Employee Practices Manual, uploading in WFN and developing appropriate links;
• Assist in maintaining filing system;
• Assist with the HR file archiving project;
• Assist with WFN reports;
• Providing HR administrative support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Working towards a degree or diploma in Human Resources Administration/Management.
Experience:
• Experience using a Human Resources Information System;
• Experience working in fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking and flexibility;
• Experience with general administrative duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
• Strong organizational abilities;
• Effective time management skills;
• An ability to be a self-starter and work comfortably independently and as part of a team;
• Awareness of sensitivity to diversity issues and confidentiality;
• Flexibility and willingness to carry out tasks as needed.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Satisfactory clearance under the Police Reference Check Program.
